After one month and a half of trying to get a mortgage approved by our bank and promises that everything was going well , one day , and only with 10 days left to the closing day, our bank advised us to look for a second option because "things were not looking to good for us", our real state agent recommended us Jim Thornton, and after only 5 business days he solved our very stressful situation and got the mortgage approved and at a very good rate also. After being very disappointed with my bank and treatment received, I went online to see who I could reach out to and possibly deal with. On my search I found Jim and he had very positive reviews, so I reached out. I have to say it was the best decision I ever made, Jim is professional and straight forward. He was able to help out and guide me through the whole mortgage process, I would highly recommend him to anyone needing assistance with a new mortgage or a refinance, you will not be disappointed!

I used Jim for a mortgage and was most impressed when he called out differences in the terms and conditions of the mortgage. He took the time to explain that the rate is the rate, but the fine print that most people just ignore and sign "I agree" is where the real differences are. These can make a big difference when plans change or the unexpected happens. This advice is the value added. If your credit is good and you have a strong banking relationship it's easier to have your bank match or come close to a competitor's published rate offer. If there are complexities in your application, Jim will help navigate your choices and find those better rates. But again, things you may not find important today could be very important in the future, and this is where an expert like Jim (especially with a bigger picture of financial planning and insurance) is of the most value.

We were first time buyers as COVID-19 started and we are long haul truck drivers to add more difficulties but Jim was amazing. He answered all of our questions and never made us feel foolish and was always upfront and honest with us. As an added bonus because we had a few months between offer and closing he was even able to get us two rate drops from the initial approval.
